Imposter Imposter
The project? Imposter Imposter is a publication exploring the modern phenomenon of imposter syndrome; a relentless cycle of impossible personal standards, projected expectations, and the overwhelming feeling of being unqualified.
The goal? Visually and conceptually examine the different ways imposter syndrome manifests. Inspired by Valerie Young’s research, the publication follows her five identified imposter patterns: perfectionists, soloists, experts, natural geniuses, and supermen. Each experiences imposter syndrome differently and responds with their own unique coping mechanisms.
The catch? A strict set of design constraints: one font, two ink colors, three days to turn it around. These limitations forced me to be resourceful and intentional, resulting in a bold, high-contrast visual style that enhances the theme of uncertainty and self-doubt.
