Connection

The project? Connection is a short publication exploring the journey of building a relationship with my mother-in-law despite a language barrier and cultural differences.

The goal? Capture the evolving dynamic between us through design and storytelling. The book visually progresses from distance and cold to closeness and warmth, mirroring our growing connection. To honor both perspectives, the narrative is presented in both English and Spanish, ensuring each side of the experience is fully represented.

From recording, transcribing, and translating interviews with my mother-in-law to crafting each visual choice, this was a deeply personal and hands-on project. The final publication is a bilingual piece that represents the power of empathy, persistence, and creativity in forming deeper human relationships.
